Aoha and welcome aboard. Whether you’re a kama‘āina born in Hawai‘i, or have chosen to live here, or simply feel at home visiting the Islands, you know in your heart that Hawai‘i is a special place.
Aloha Airlines is a homegrown company that has been providing exceptional air service to Hawai‘i’s residents and visitors for many years. Our 60th anniversary is right around the corner.
In 1946, the dream of Aloha’s founders was to create opportunities in aviation for local people and give residents and visitors a choice in interisland flying. Over six decades, the dedication of Aloha’s employees has made that dream a reality and, thanks to them, Aloha has grown and spread its wings beyond Hawai‘i’s shores.
There’s a bumper sticker that reminds us that, without Hawaiians, there would be no aloha spirit. I believe that, without Aloha Airlines, something would be missing from Hawai‘i.
Day after day, thousands of people rely on Aloha Airlines for frequent, dependable, friendly air transportation that serves as a bridge between the far-flung communities of our Island state. You may not know that Aloha operates daytime and overnight freighters and carries the lion’s share—about 85 percent—of the state’s interisland air cargo. This includes the U.S. mail to O‘ahu, Maui and the Big Island of Hawai‘i. In addition, Aloha provides ground-based aviation services that make it possible for many other domestic and international carriers to serve Hawai‘i airports.
Aloha does all of this with a special spirit of aloha that distinguishes this airline, and we strive to maintain our tradition of friendly, efficient customer service in whatever we do.
Here are some other reasons Aloha is Hawai‘i’s favorite airline:
- Aloha is one of the largest employers in the state. Nearly all of our 3,500 employees are based here. We buy most of our supplies from local vendors. Thousands of Hawai‘i households depend on Aloha for their livelihoods.
- Over the years, Aloha has helped the state in good times by playing an active role in our tourism-dependent and agriculture-based economy. We’re also here in the bad times. When hurricanes and disasters hit, Aloha stands ready to provide emergency airlifts and assistance. We also lend a helping hand to public and private agencies in hundreds of small ways.
- Our employees are among the most generous people you will ever meet. They volunteer tirelessly and give of themselves coaching kids, working with church groups and community-action programs, giving blood to the Hawai‘i Blood Bank and donating to myriad charity and food drives to make Hawai‘i a better place.
- Aloha expresses its pride and exercises its responsibility as a good corporate citizen by helping hundreds of worthy causes, from supporting Hawai‘i’s culture and arts and cheering on our hometown athletic teams to assisting nonprofit organizations in the important work they do.
Whether you travel for business or pleasure, I hope you will continue to support Aloha Airlines. Help us keep the dream alive, so we can preserve jobs and provide the community with all-jet air service in the unique spirit that gives this airline its name
